Former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea remains a free agent after his summer release from Old Trafford - but he could soon have a new club with a shock move on the line.
The 33-year-old stopper left United earlier this year when his contract at Erik ten Hag's side expired.
It brought to an end a 12-year spell at Old Trafford which began in 2011 when the goalkeeper was signed from Atletico Madrid by legendary former United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
De Gea went on to make nearly 550 appearances in that time and won the Premier League, FA Cup, Europa League and two League Cups in that time.

De Gea left United as Ten Hag's side opted to move on from the long serving goalkeeper, with the Dutchman opting to sign Andre Onana from Inter Milan as his new number one stopper.
Since his release from Old Trafford, De Gea has been a free agent and been without a club since the end of June.
Being a free agent, the goalkeeper can join another club at any other time and does not need to wait for the January transfer window to seal a move.
And it seems that De Gea could have a new club potentially lined up, although it could be a slightly awkward one.
According to The Sun, Al Ettifaq are leading the chase for De Gea's signature, a potentially awkward move when you consider who is at the Saudi club.
Kop legend Steven Gerrard currently manages Al Ettifaq, having taken charge at the start of July.
And one of Gerrard's first signings in charge was to bring former Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson to the club, meaning De Gea could end up being managed by and play with two former Liverpool captains against whom he battled in one of England's fiercest rivalries.
However, it is not the only option available to the former Spain international.
He has also been linked with a return to his home country, with the player reportedly in talks with Spanish second division club Eldense.
Meanwhile, a potential return to United has been touted as a possibility, with the club set to lose Onana at the start of next year to the Africa Cup of Nations.
