Conor McGregor Shows Off Massive Scars After Surgery On Snapped Leg
Published
Conor McGregor has given fans a glimpse of the giant scars on his leg as he continues his road to recovery.
The Irishman looks like he's back walking again after suffering a devastating leg break during his UFC 264 defeat to Dustin Poirier.
As McGregor shifted his weight to his back foot during the fight, his entire ankle completely snapped under the pressure and he collapsed to the canvas.
The bout continued but was brought to a premature end when the doctor intervened at the end of the first round.
Since then, the former dual-division UFC champion has been undergoing intense physical therapy as part of his ongoing rehabilitation.
Only last week, McGregor was seen fully weight bearing for the first time since his surgery and last night us fans got to see his huge scars.
In an Instagram story, the Irishman can be seen living the high life in the back seat of a fancy car.
He then points the camera down to his lower legs, not to show off his boujee designer shoes, but rather to reveal the hefty scars on BOTH sides of his leg.
The actual scars themselves are massive, but perhaps the thing that makes us most queasy is the dotted marks either side to show where the stables were holding his leg together.
I mean, fair play to him.
To be strutting around less than two months after a potentially career-ending injury is nothing short of a miracle.
McGregor is just built differently.
There's no hiding the fact that McGregor is keen to get back in the octagon as soon as possible.
The UFC fan favourite has since been slapped with a lengthy medical suspension, although - at the time - Dana White confirmed that we're unlikely to see him back in action for the rest of 2021.
"I think they just released him right now from the hospital about 10, 15 minutes ago," the UFC president said.
"He'll be in L.A. for a little while, and I don't know if he's going to fly home or what he's going to do from there.
"He'll be back in a year - yeah."
It's no secret that McGregor wants to run it back for a fourth time with rival Dustin Poirier, even trading barbs with him during his UFC 264 octagon interview, demanding an immediate rematch after he completes his recovery.
But at the moment, Poirier has his hands full.
The former interim champ looks set to take on current lightweight king Charles Oliviera for a shot at the 155-pound title.
That bout between arguably two of the most entertaining fighters on the UFC roster is reportedly in the works, being targetted for UFC 269 in December.
