Mesut Ozil brilliantly responds to fan who asks what it was like playing with Cristiano Ronaldo

Ex-Arsenal and Real Madrid midfield maestro Mesut Ozil was caught on camera hilariously responding to a fan who asked him how it was to play with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ozil is currently plying his trade in Turkey for Super Lig side Istanbul Basaksehir, making the move from Fenerbahce last summer.

The 34-year-old was recently asked by a fan how it was like to play with one of the all-time greats of the game, Cristiano Ronaldo.

The fan quickly asked the ex-German international: "What was it like playing with Ronaldo?"

To which Ozil swiftly responded: "Ask him, he played with me."

The comment sent the surrounding group of people into an eruption into laughter, and the midfielder smirked as he walked away.

Ozil played with Ronaldo for three years at Real Madrid, winning a La Liga title, a Copa del Rey and a Supercopa de Espana before making the move to Arsenal in the summer of 2013.

The two formed a lethal partnership, with Ozil's range of passing and vision coupled with Ronaldo's blistering pace proving to be a handful for defenders all over Europe.

Unluckily for Mesut Ozil though, he was never able to play in a Champions League final for Los Blancos despite his quality, as they were knocked out in the semis each season he was there.

The attacking midfielder has been struggling for game-time recently though, only managing seven appearances in all competitions this season as Basaksehir sit third in Super Lig, firmly in contention for a Champions League spot.

Rumours have started circling about Ozil retiring though, apparently telling his team-mates that he is ready to quit football if his current contract is terminated, which it is rumoured to be.

Ozil has not really settled since leaving Arsenal, the club he spent the bulk of his career at.

As one of the last authentic no.10s in the game, Ozil retiring will surely make fans look back and appreciate how good the midfielder really was in his prime
