Mason Greenwood watched by Premier League scouts as Man Utd transfer meeting planned

Premier League clubs are monitoring Mason Greenwood during his season-long at Getafe from Manchester United.

The 22-year-old joined the La Liga outfit in September after United determined it'd be better for Greenwood to continue his career away from Old Trafford following an internal investigation.

Charges of attempted rape, assault and coercive control against the striker were dropped in February.

Greenwood has played 10 times in La Liga this season, scoring twice and registering three assists.

He scored in Saturday's 2-1 win over Almeria, grabbing the equaliser with an effort from outside the box.

The England international is said to be settled in Spain, although his long-term future is yet to be determined.

Spanish outlet AS claim scouts from several Premier League clubs have been at the Estadio Coliseum to watch Greenwood in action.

No Premier League side showed an interest in signing Greenwood on loan in the summer transfer window. Two Championship teams showed an interest, as did sides in Italy and Turkey.

Getafe are hoping to extend Greenwood's stay in Spain and have a meeting with United pencilled in for April.

They're aware they'll face competition now he's had a consecutive run of games for the first time in 18 months.

'El Geta' faced criticism when they decided to bring Greenwood in on a short-term deal.

Manager Jose Bordalas discussed his impact since arriving on transfer deadline day.

He said: "We have been working with Mason since he arrived, with a lot of patience, working on timing. You all know that he has not played for two years.

"There has been a very big deficit and he is recovering with the help of everyone. The credit belongs to everyone.

"It was a great goal, we know the quality he has. He is not yet at his best level. I am very happy because he has integrated phenomenally. I congratulate his teammates who have helped him a lot."

Per The Athletic, Greenwood is currently taking Spanish lessons to communicate with his teammates more effectively.

Getafe are currently eighth in the table and return to action against Las Palmas on Friday.
