Man Utd fans fear 'something's going on' with Marcus Rashford as 'weird' moment spotted in Everton win

Manchester United fans have voiced their concern for Marcus Rashford after spotting a "weird" moment involving the player during their win over Everton.

United moved up to sixth in the Premier League with a morale-boosting 3-0 victory at Goodison Park in which Rashford scored only his second goal of the season.

Everton pushed hard for an equaliser but were punished when Anthony Martial was brought down in the area by former United defender Ashley Young.

Referee John Brooks initially waved away United's penalty appeals and booked Martial for simulation, but he reversed his decision following a VAR review.

Rashford stepped up to score his second Premier League goal of the campaign.

Martial then added a third late in the half to put the result beyond doubt.

While it was a positive afternoon for Erik ten Hag's side, some fans voiced their concerns for Rashford after spotting the striker's celebration after his goal.

After scoring past Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, Rashford turned to his teammates and appeared to subtly pump his fists before hugging Martial.

His relatively muted celebration appeared to be noticed by his teammates, who then forcefully pushed the forward in the direction of the travelling United supporters.

Rashford initially appeared reluctant to celebrate further but then ran in the direction of the fans before finally breaking into a smile and jumping in celebration.

The moment was picked up by fans on social media.

"What the hell is going on with Rashford?? Scores a pen and doesn't even enjoy it. Has to be pushed into a half-hearted celebration," posted one fan on X.

Another added: "Weird celebration from United, something's going on with Rashford I think."

"Even Rashford is forgetting his own celebration," joked another fan.

United supporters will be hoping Rashford has now turned a corner and will rediscover the excellent form he showed last season, in which he scored 30 goals in all competitions.

Bruno Fernandes was praised for allowing Rashford to take the penalty against Everton and the United captain says he has full faith in his teammate.

"When you're a striker you want to score, need to score," Fernandes told Sky Sports at full-time.

"That's part of their game but after the penalty, you can see he was unstoppable.

"Sometimes you need the chance to score to get that confidence back. But he has been great for us. Last season he was amazing, so expectations were higher this season. He is still world class."
