Liverpool fans stunned by Pep Guardiola's pronunciation of Dominik Szoboszlai

Pep Guardiola’s pronunciation of Dominik Szoboszlai has left Liverpool fans stunned.

The Hungarian has hit the ground running straight away after a string of impressive performances in the middle of the park.

So far in the 23/24 season, the midfielder has registered two goals and two assists in 17 appearances.

Guardiola struggled to say Szoboszlai’s name and also Ryan Gravenberch’s name before correcting himself.

Reacting to Guardiola’s pronunciations, one Liverpool fan wrote on social media: “Pep Guardiola’s pronunciation of “Szoboszlai” is absolutely mental.”

Another tweeted: “Salazi and Gravener masterclass incoming.”

A third fan added: “He just went for it and hoped for the best.”

Speaking about Liverpool’s threats, Guardiola said: “Time goes forward, eight or nine years, not the same players – they have Trent Alexander-Arnold inside or outside - but the idea is similar.

“We have a lot of space in behind and they have incredible runs with [Luis] Diaz, with Darwin Nunez, with [Mohamed] Salah of course, and now with [Dominik] Szoboszlai and [Ryan] Gravenberch.”

Guardiola also explained that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has had an impact on his career.

He said: “Absolutely, absolutely [Klopp has made me a better manager]. He helped me reflect on a lot of the things. The problems that we face. Absolutely.

“[We've] always been big rivals, good games for both sides, positive approach to the games and always attractive games.”

Liverpool have the chance to go top of the Premier League if they manage to record their first league win over City at the Etihad Stadium since 2015 on Saturday.
