Laura Woods gags during TNT Sports clip as Ally McCoist makes hilarious joke

TNT Sports presenter Laura Woods was forced to gag while trying French food before PSG's Champions League clash against Newcastle.

Woods was anchoring the coverage in the Parc des Princes, which saw Newcastle come within minutes of securing a famous 1-0 victory.

The win would have seen the Magpies climb to second place in the group with one match remaining.

But a controversial penalty decision in second half injury time, and Kylian Mbappe's subsequent conversion, rescued a draw for hosts and maintained their spot in second place.

Before the game, Woods and pundit Rio Ferdinand - who had to leave the studio early during the match - filmed a segment in which they tried French delicacies. They were joined by Jermaine Jenas and Ally McCoist.

First up was a taste of snails, and it's fair to say they didn't go down well with the TNT Sports presenter.

Woods struggled to eat the snail on her first attempt, putting her hand to her mouth - much to the amusement of those filming the segment.

Her second try caused her to gag as she attempted to eat the snail, and Woods quickly grabbed a cup of coffee.

In response, Ferdinand quipped: "If you're going to wash it down with coffee, that's a bad sign."

Woods joked: "I promise you that was great. I recommend that," before Jenas challenged her to eat another one.

Woods laughed at that suggestion, before adding: "Honestly, it wasn't that bad. It's just the texture.

"When you bite into it, it squeaks. Not like it's still alive, it just makes that noise."

Ferdinand replied: "You're not selling that at all."

And McCoist quipped: "I thought she was a bit slow coming over, but she would be with the snails... I went a wee bit early on that one, I was going to save it.

"I said as well, she needs to come out of her shell a bit."

It's safe to say that Woods won't be trying snails again any time soon.
