Who is Andre August? Jake Paul's next opponent revealed as fight date confirmed

Jake Paul has confirmed that he will face Andre August in his next professional boxing fight on December 15. But who is his next opponent?

After days of speculation over the identity of his next fight, Paul confirmed on Wednesday that he will be facing August in Orlando, Florida. The fight will be broadcast by DAZN.

In a press release, Paul stated: "I'm a professional boxer and I want to be world champion, so I need to pursue the path towards greatness against people who have been boxing their whole life."

According to combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani, the fight will take place over eight rounds at cruiserweight.

As per BoxRec, the 35-year-old American fighter has contested 12 bouts at professional level, winning 10 of them with five knockouts.

The only defeat of the cruiserweight's career came against fellow American boxer Eric Abraham in 2018.

His most recent victory came against the undefeated 7-0 boxer Brandon Martin, which he won via unanimous decision.

August's five knockouts in boxing is more than any other opponent Paul has faced during his career to date.

And unlike Paul's other opponents, August's primary combat sports discipline throughout his career has been boxing - meaning 'The Problem Child' is fulfilling his aim to fight professional boxers.

The Houston-based fighter has won his last five fights, and said in a statement following confirmation of the Paul bout: "Jake Paul has the money, the fame, the team and the resources but he doesn't have my hunger.

"When that bell rings, I am going to go straight to Jake Paul and ring his bell and send him back to YouTube for good."
