Kylian Mbappe goes viral after hilarious clip of him watching France at Rugby World Cup

Kylian Mbappe took time out from his busy football schedule to back his nation at the opening fixture of the Rugby Union World Cup.

France is hosting the 2023 edition of the competition and the first match took place on Friday evening at the Stade de France in Paris as the home nation took on the All Blacks, New Zealand.

Antoine Griezmann, Olivier Giroud, Ousmane Dembele and Dayot Upamecano were also at the Stade de France alongside Mbappe to watch France complete a thrilling victory, with the score having stood at 9-8 to the hosts at half-time in a tight encounter.

Footage have emerged of the French football contingent celebrating at the game, and judging by the reaction of Mbappe, it seems watching and understanding rugby union might not quite be his forte.

It shows the crowd celebrating a moment in the match, but there is a clear delay from Mbappe joining in, suggesting his understanding of the sport might not be the greatest.

The striker eventually does join in and holds his arms aloft, but his celebrations are nowhere near as animated as those in the crowd around him.

The footage has been picked up by Get French Football News, who took a light hearted view and posted an emoji along with: "Kylian trying to understand rugby."
