Erling Haaland has scored against 20 of the 21 opposing sides he's faced in the Premier League

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has now scored against all but one of the Premier League clubs he has faced after he netted the opener against Liverpool.

The 23-year-old broke another, yes another, record on a cold Saturday afternoon in Manchester, when he became the fastest player in history to score 50 Premier League goals.

Haaland, who smashed Alan Shearer and Andy Cole's record for most goals in a single Premier League campaign [36] last season, continues to be a menace in front of goal.

And it took the Norwegian just 27 minutes to slot past Alisson after some individual brilliance from defender Nathan Ake.

After his latest goal at the Etihad, Haaland has now scored against 20 of the 21 sides he's faced in the Premier League, with the only exception being Brentford.

Manchester City have often struggled against Brentford. In fact, the Bees recorded two hard-fought wins over the Premier League champions last season, with Haaland featuring in the home fixture on November 11.

Back in May, Brentford boss Thomas Frank said he wouldn't swap Ivan Toney for Erling Haaland.

Frank believes Toney, who was one of the club's standout performers last season, would score more than 25 Premier League goals if he was playing for a top-four club.

“Of course not,” said Frank when asked if he'd swap Toney for Haaland. “If Ivan was playing in a top-four club, he would score 25-plus goals. I’m convinced about that.

“I’m very happy he is playing for us and not another club and I think it is remarkable what he has done.”

Pep Guardiola, meanwhile, has backed Haaland to break more records in the coming weeks, months and years.

He said in April: “He can break all the records possible, that will help him. It’s impressive. He’s close to breaking all of them records. You can put all the statistics you like in front of me - all I can say is that I’m impressed."
