England vs Senegal referee: Who are the match officials for the 2022 World Cup round of 16 clash?

England will take on Senegal in their World Cup round of 16 clash on Sunday.

The Three Lions face the Africa Cup of Nations winners at the Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, with a spot in the World Cup quarter-finals up for grabs.

England finished top of Group B after beating Iran and Wales, and drawing with the United States.

Senegal, meanwhile, came second in Group A behind the Netherlands.

The Lions of Teranga lost their opening game against the Dutch but then beat Qatar and Ecuador to book their spot in the last 16.

England go into the game as strong favourites but will be taking nothing for granted. Here's all you need to know about the officials for the match.

El Salvadorian referee Ivan Barton will be the man in the middle.

He is the third-youngest referee at the tournament and currently officiates in El Salvador's Primera Division.

Barton was appointed a FIFA referee in 2018 and is also an organic chemistry professor at the University of El Salvador, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Chemical Sciences.

Barton took charge of Japan's shock 2-1 win over Germany, while he was also the referee for Brazil's narrow victory over Switzerland earlier in the tournament.
