UFC star Dustin Poirier has shown off his ridiculously gruesome-looking swollen foot that has come about as a result of a staph infection.
The MMA fighter has been hospitalised for the past few days due to an infection caused by staphylococcus bacteria.
The bacteria has left the 33-year-old with seriously gnarly swelling and skin discolouring.

Feet should definitely not look like that.
The American summed it up perfectly with his tweet: “Wut da hellll.”
Staph infections can become fatal if they enter the bloodstream, bones, joints, heart, or lungs.
However, they can commonly be treated with antibiotics as long as they are prescribed soon enough.
MMA fighters commonly suffer from the infection due to the intense grappling they undertake on a regular basis.
They can often lead to some serious time away from the Octagon.
Ex-middleweight champion Robert Whittaker was forced to the sideline for a year after contracting an infection in his stomach in February 2018.
Luckily for Poirier, he believes he is already on the mend.
Yesterday, he tweeted: “Antibiotics are working. Getting outta the hospital tomorrow morning.”

‘The Diamond’ also looked to be in good spirits regardless of the situation.
He quipped: “The doctor did inform me that the bacteria does not know jiujitsu so we should be safe.”
Calling it now, 30-27 to Poirier by unanimous decision over the staph infection.

The MMA world sent through their well-wishes to the former Interim UFC lightweight champion.
Charles Oliveria tweeted: “Wishing you a quick recovery champ. Let’s pray for Diamond. He will get over this.”
Welterweight Gilbert Burns wrote: “Get well soon brother. Prayers on your way!!”
Endurance athlete Ken Rideout said: “Get well brother.”
Despite his condition, Poirier still managed to throw a cheeky online jab at his infamous rival Conor McGregor.

He tweeted: “You done filming Roid Hosue and ready to get slapped around again?!”
The Notorious One certainly didn’t like that one either, replying: “Ye I’m in Amsterdam jacked like Van Damn. You weren’t just hurt pal. You were scared hurt, don’t forget it. I’m coming back to put you in a box. Full of it. I’m sending you off this earth. Permanent. Stay waiting for the road house as well pal, you and the missus will love it.”
And even Nate Diaz wanted to throw his thoughts in the mix: “You both get knocked out all the time.”
Did someone say triple threat?
