David de Gea has dropped yet another hint on social media that he could return to Manchester United this winter.
The 32-year-old remains without a club after he called time on his 12-year career at Old Trafford in July, following the expiration of his contract.
In an emotional statement confirming his departure, De Gea expressed his desire to "undertake a new challenge" in "new surroundings".
However, according to The Sun, the Spaniard could make a shock return to United on a short-term deal due to first-choice goalkeeper Andre Onana's impending involvement at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The 27-year-old shot-stopper, who only joined the Red Devils over the summer, could miss up to eight matches should Cameroon go deep into the competition.
De Gea previously hinted that he could be returning to The Theatre of Dreams after he was spotted in Manchester, and posted pictures alongside Red Devils captain Bruno Fernandes.
While he added fuel to speculation on Thursday, simply tweeting a 'thinking face' emoji amid reports of his potential return.
The former Spain international has now posted another photo on social media, suggesting he is keeping himself sharp for any opportunity that may arise.
Taking to Instagram yesterday, De Gea of pair of goalkeeping gloves, football boots and a ball on his story. The image was accompanied by the caption: "feeling good".
Asked if De Gea will be at United next season, Ten Hag told The Times, said: "Yes, but I will not say he'll always be my No.1 because in a club like Man United there must be competition in all positions. You can’t do it with 11 players.
"It is impossible. You need double positions."
"It's not what I want, it's more what top football demands nowadays," added Ten Hag. "If you observe the biggest teams, you have to be capable of playing from the back, and use your 'keeper as a plus one in your back, otherwise it's very simple for opponents to put you under pressure.
"He [De Gea] had to step up. In a number of games, he showed progression."
