New footage shows Cristiano Ronaldo swearing at fans in fiery Saudi clash

New footage has emerged which appeared to show Cristiano Ronaldo swearing towards fans.

On Tuesday, Ronaldo started for Al Nassr as they took on Steven Gerrard’s Al Ettifaq in the last-16 of the King’s Cup.

After being tied at 0-0 after 90 minutes, former Liverpool man Sadio Mane scored the winner in the second period of extra time.

During the celebration, Ronaldo was spotted appearing to swear towards the fans in the crowd. You can watch the footage below.

As shown in the video, Ronaldo was seen gesturing to the crowd when running towards Mane, before appearing to shout swear words towards the stands.

During the match, Ronaldo gestured towards the touchline to ask for the referee to be substituted before he was involved in a heated exchange with Al Ettifaq’s former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson.

Back in January, Ronaldo became the first big-name player to ditch European football for Saudi Arabia when he signed for Al Nassr on the back of his second stint with Manchester United.

Since then, clubs in the Saudi Professional League have been spending big to lure some of Europe’s best players to the Middle East.

The likes of Karim Benzema, Neymar, Roberto Firmino, Riyad Mahrez and Ruben Neves have all ditched Europe for Saudi Arabia during the summer transfer window.

During an interview with the Saudi Pro League, Ronaldo said: “If they are coming, big players and big names, young players, 'old players', they are very welcome because if that happens, the league will improve a little bit.

“The league is very good but I think we have many opportunities to still grow. The league is competitive. We have very good teams, very good Arab players.”

He added: “And in my opinion if they continue to do the work that they want to do here, for the next five years, I think the Saudi league can be a top five league in the world.”
