Saudi Pro League's top-performing players ranked as Cristiano Ronaldo misses out on top spot

The Saudi Pro League's top-performing players have been ranked and Cristiano Ronaldo misses out on top spot.

The Middle Eastern country is home to some of the biggest names in world football, with the likes of Karim Benzema, Riyad Mahrez, Neymar and Sadio Mane all making the lucrative switch over the summer.

Meanwhile, current Premier League stars such as Bruno Fernandes, Mohamed Salah, Kevin De Bruyne and Casemiro have all been rumoured with a move to Saudi at the end of the season.

Ronaldo became the first high profile star to make the move and has established himself as the poster boy for the league.

However, despite plundering an impressive 16 goals in 17 appearances for Al Nassr this season, the Portuguese superstar is still not ranked the best performing player in the league.

According to Sofascore, Al Fateh midfielder Mourad Batna, who has managed seven goals and seven assists so far this term, is the best-performing player in the league with an average match rating of 8.11.

The Morocco international is closely followed by Al Ittihad's Igor Coronado, who has nine goal contributions to his name so far and an average rating of 8.09.

Ronaldo rounds off the top three with an average rating of 8.07, even though he has more goals than both Batna and Coronado combined, along with seven assists.

Ranked fourth on the list is last year's ballon d'Or winner Benzema, who has netted eight times of Al Ittihad in the league and been awarded an average rating of 8.03.

Al Hilal's Salem Al-Dawsari completes the top five with a rating of 8.02, with former Manchester City star Mahrez ranked ninth of the list, with a rating of 7.71.

Ex-Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante is 16th (7.54), Aleksandar Mitrovic is 20th (7.46), Jordan Henderson is tied with former Liverpool teammate Mane in 24th place (7.41) and Brazilian superstar Neymar doesn't even make the top 50 after an injury-ridden start to life in the Middle East.
