Real Madrid targeting shock move for Chelsea's Kai Havertz

Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea forward Kai Havertz this summer with a rebuild expected at the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
Los Blancos will end the season without a trophy, a rarity for the Spanish giants, and a major overhaul is expected during the summer transfer window.
Having missed out on the La Liga title to Barcelona as well as being eliminated from the Champions League by Manchester City last month, Carlo Ancelotti's side could look significantly different by the start of next season.
It had been expected that long-serving striker Karim Benzema would announce his departure from the Spanish capital after almost 14 years with a big money move to Saudi Arabia reportedly on the table. However, the 35-year-old has since told Marca that he will stay for another season to see out the remainder of his contract which expires next summer.

Real are still looking to add firepower to their squad this summer though with Havertz understood to be on their shortlist with Los Blancos holding 'concrete interest' in the Germany international.
Romano tweeted: "Real Madrid have concrete interest in Kai Havertz. He’s one of the players in the list, really appreciated by Ancelotti. Understand Chelsea are open to discuss Havertz exit but they want important fee, no way for loan & similar."

The 23-year-old has endured a mixed season, managing just nine goals in 47 appearances for the Blues this campaign. However, with three managers and their lowest-ever Premier League points tally and finish of 44 and 12th, it has been a season to forget for all those associated with the west London club.
Since joining from Bayer Leverkusen in September 2020, the 23-year-old has struggled to make a major impact, scoring 32 goals and providing 15 assists in 139 matches, with consistency his major issue.
However, glimpses of quality have been shown on occassion with Havertz scoring the winning goal in Chelsea's Champions League success over Manchester City two years ago.
Former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has already been confirmed as the club's new manager and made his first major call when deciding against making Joao Felix's loan from Atletico Madrid permanent. A similar decision involving Havertz could well be made over the summer.
