Casemiro tipped to leave Man Utd in January as Saudi Pro League interest revealed

Casemiro could leave Manchester United in January following reports that Saudi Pro League clubs are keen to sign the Brazilian.

Despite being one of the Red Devils' standout players last season, Casemiro has endured a difficult start to the new campaign.

The 31-year-old's misery was compounded by a hamstring injury he suffered during United's 3-0 Carabao Cup defeat to Newcastle.

Casemiro joined United in from Real Madrid in August 2022 for £60 million, with his price tag and £300,000 per-week wages often questioned by fans when bearing in mind his age.

Now, following his drop-off in form, Casemiro has been identified as a primary target for the Saudi Pro League in 2024, according to 90min.

The report adds that unlike the likes of Bruno Fernandes, who has also been linked with a move to the Middle East, "Casemiro may be more available in January."

That is "due to the potential prospect of United recouping a large chunk of their initial expense on the player, in terms of transfer fee and wages."

While it is said that "United are not actively shopping Casemiro", they would reportedly be open to selling the midfielder for the right price.

Interestingly, Casemiro still has a staggering four years remaining on his current deal at Old Trafford, but the club may look to cash in on the player while his stock is still high, as opposed to watching his transfer value plummet in years to come.

A move to the Middle East could present the chance of a reunion with former Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr, while he could also join up with international teammate Neymar at Al Hilal.
